Police investigate leaked sex tape

Police in the Tamale Metropolis have launched investigations into the circumstances under which explicit photographs and video recordings of different women in sexual orgies went viral in the metropolis.
The pictures and videos reportedly show the women in compromising positions, performing various sexual acts.
They  are suspected to have been taken by a Canadian national who reportedly engaged in the acts with them when he visited Ghana recently.
The Public Relations Officer of the Northern Regional Police, ASP Ebenezer Tetteh, told Citi News that the Police are looking into the matter following complaints from the parents of the man.
According to ASP Tetteh, the parents lodged an official complaint to the police alleging that “a friend of the man had stolen the hard drive on which the pictures were stored” from him and distributed them.
ASP Tetteh revealed that the police had begun investigations into “how the pictures videos were acquired” and whether they were “gained with the consent of the ladies or not.”

Mr Kwabena Agyepong, General Secretary, NPP, receiving the report from Madam Ama Busia, Chairman of the Vetting Committee, while other members look on.

The Vetting Committee of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has presented its report to the General Secretary of the party, Mr Kwabena Agyepong, for action.
The 12-page report, with a lot of appendages, is titled, “Report of the Vetting Committee of the New Patriotic Party on nominees for the 2016 presidential primary.”
It will be recalled that the nine-member vetting committee of the NPP started sitting on July 23, 2014 to scrutinise the nomination forms of the seven presidential aspirants bidding for the flag-bearer slot.
Members of committee
The chairperson of the committee is Madam Ama Busia, a former member of the Council of State. The committee used Thursday, July 24, and Friday, July 25, to vet the seven aspirants who appeared before it.
The other members of the committee are Madam Christine Churcher, Mr J B Aidoo, Mr Peter Mac Manu, Ambassador Kwabena Mensa Bonsu, Prof. Mike Ocquaye, Dr Rev. Asante Antwi, Mr Kwadjo Mpiani and Mr C. K. Tedem.

Presentation of report
Receiving the report from Madam Busia at a short ceremony at the party’s headquarters yesterday, Mr Kwabena Agyepong, General Secretary of the NPP, thanked the committee members for compiling the report and presenting it ahead of the scheduled time.
He promised the committee that the party executive would look at it and “if everything in the report is okayed,” the flag-bearer aspirants would be written to and informed of their status.
Pressed to disclose the highlights of the report, Mr Agyepong said, “I am just receiving the report and I will need some time to go through it.”

Flag-bearer aspirants
It will be recalled that before nominations closed on July 7, 2014, seven aspirants had submitted their nomination forms at the party’s headquarters to contest the position of the flag bearer of the party.
The aspirants are Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the 2008 and 2012 presidential candidate of the party; Mr Alan Kwadjo Kyerematen, former minister; Mr Francis Addai Nimoh, MP for Mampong; and Dr Kofi  Konadu Apraku,  a former minister. The rest are Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng, a former minister; Mr Joe Ghartey,  the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament and MP for Essikado-Ketan; and Mr Kofi Osei Ameyaw, MP for Asuogyaman.
Now that the report has been submitted, the fate of the aspirants hangs in a balance, as per the party’s constitution, the number has to be pruned down to the top five.
If an aspirant is disqualified by the vetting committee, he has 48 hours to appeal.
The committee would, however, have no option but to recommend all the seven for the special congress of the party slated for August 31, 2014 if it found out that all the seven were capable presidential materials.
According to Mr Agyapong, it is too early to say the party will be going for a Special Delegates’ congress.
“All will depend on the findings of the vetting committee,” he stated, and added: “If no issue came up during the vetting process, which would lead to the disqualification of an aspirant, all seven will be “signed off as the official aspirants for the flagbearership of our party.”

I never said we met the queen - Herty Borngreat

A photograph of Ghanaian gospel singer, Herty Borngreat, and her husband, in a pose with a life-like wax figure of the Queen of England and her Royal family at the Madame Tussauds museum in London, has generated heated controversy in some circles in the country.
The photos, first published on the musician's facebook page, 'Herty Borngreat Music', caught the attention of some journalists who churned out news reports claiming that Herty had met the Queen, toured the Burkimham Palace and interacted with the Royal Family.
The publications generated uproar and huge controversy on whether Herty was using the photos with the wax images of the Royal family to deceive her fans that she had actually met the queen.
"I have never said or written anywhere that I had met the Queen and taken photos with her. Madam Tussauds is a very popular wax museum and that was where I took the photos, so if some journalists saw the photos on my face- book page and decided to write stories saying I had met the Queen and .taken a tour of Burkimham Palace, why am I the one receiving the insults when I have neither granted any interview nor said anywhere I had met the Queen," Herty told NEWS-ONE on Tuesday.
Herty explained that she and her husband, Rev. Daniel Ofori Borngreat, were in London on holidays when they visited the Madame Tussauds museum and took photos with the wax sculptures of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Pope Francis and other renowned world leaders they had admiration for.
She said they had no intention whatsoever of using the photos to deceive her fans.
"It is very common for people to take photos with the wax figures of people in the museum and we also did same just like any other person. Yes, we put one of the photos on our social page and said, 'God will position you in greater heights in life without much struggle.. .if you believe, type Amen.' We did not say I met the Queen, so I am surprised people have taken this simple thing and are running with it in a negative way.
"I understand that I am in showbiz and not everyone would like me. But taking the hate campaign to my husband and family is below the belt," Herty added.
The said photo, as at Tuesday afternoon had attracted 41,572 comments on Herty Borngreat's facebook page.

2face changes name to ‘Tu-baba’

Pop singer, Innocent Idibia  has dropped his stage name, 2face, and now wish to be called Tu-baba.
The legendary Nigerian singer recently released his sixth album, made this known while performing songs from his new album, The Ascension at ‘The industry Nite’,on Thursday, at Spice Route Club, Victoria Island, Lagos.
According to the former Plantashun Boiz singer, he would no longer be known as 2face Idibia on his next album, but simply as Tubaba.
”2face has been in the industry for 17 years, and still is growing stronger. I am holding a send forth party for 2face, and after tonight’s event, I will now be known as Tubaba", the African Queen crooner said.
The industry Nite, sponsored by MTV had a lot of celebrities who thronged the event venue to support one of their own.
Among them were, Olisa Adibua, Dr Sid, Timaya,  Dammy Krane, Ill Bliss,  Chidinma, Bizzle, Mode Nine, Bassey, Orezi, Oriste Femi, Solid Star and others.

Many industry watchers thought the two young kids, Wizkid and Davido have buried their differences and show of supremacy but it seems all is not well again.
The duo are said to be on collision once more. It started with what looks like an harmless tweet but the hatred is already spreading on the social media.
wIZKID-WAR

Wizkid had tweeted ” Thank u so much NewYork!! Amazing show last night!!Big up @wale nd @akon for showing me love!! Proper show! Proper venue! Boys talk!! Men work!!”, few hours after his New York performance on the same night Davido beat him and others to the Artiste of the year at the African Muzik Magazine Awards in Dallas, US.
Many felt he played down the significance of the awards and was indirectly throwing insult at his perceived arch-rival with the line, “Boys talk!! Men Work!!”

Martin Amidu wins; Supreme Court orders Woyome to refund Ȼ51m

The Supreme Court has ordered business man Alfred Woyome to refund a total of Ȼ51.2 million judgement debt payment he received between 2009 and 2010.
Judges at the highest court ruled the National Democratic Congress financier had no valid contract to be paid that amount of money.
The ruling follows a review of the court's own earlier decision sought by former Attorney General Martin Amidu who insisted that Woyome, like Waterville and Isofoton, had no valid contract to be paid any amount by the state in judgement debt.
The Supreme Court few months ago ruled in favour of Amidu and directed Isofoton and Waterville to pay back monies paid them in judgement debt.
It said the contracts which formed the basis for the claims by the two companies did not exist in law for want of Parliamentary ratification as required by law.
It however refused to make a ruling on the Woyome matter because the matter was pending at the High Court.
Not satisfied with the ruling of the court, the citizen vigilante, as he would describe himself, went back to the Court asking it to review its own decision on Woyome and the Attorney General whom he joined to the suit against Waterville and Isofoton.

Why Ebo Whyte doesn’t invite celebrities to his plays

http://wwwameyawdebrahcom.c.presscdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/ebo-whyte.jpg
Ghanaian playwright and motivational speaker, James Ebo Whyte affectionately  known as Uncle Ebo Whyte, over the weekend made revealing and candid appearance on the ‘At home with Michelle Attoh’ show. When he was asked by Michelle why he doesn’t invite Ghanaian celebs to his shows, he replied: ”When you start your program late, you show a gross disrespect to the people who have left their homes early to come and watch your play, and whatever the case is, I start my shows at the advertised time. Ghanaian celebs will destroy my show,  this is because the kind of celebrities we have here in Ghana don’t turn out early for shows and I can’t delay the time the show is supposed to get started just because of celebs”.
He further revealed that he failed and suffered a lot when growing up; and through all these, there are lessons that he has picked from what life taught him. Among others, these are some of the lessons he shared on the show:
1. Don’t be disappointed when somebody disappoints you.
2. Have a relationship with God- a deep one.
3. Be thankful, show gratitude in your life.
4. Don’t compare yourself with anyone because you don’t know what they passed through before reaching where they are now.
Guess what? Uncle Ebo does not use a mobile phone, fact is he has never owned and doesn’t intend to, ”I’m not that important to be
reached at any time, whoever wants to reach me, knows how to get to me,” he explained. He has been married to Florence for the past 31 years and has successfully written, produced and directed over 25 plays including:  Life is someway, Different shades of women, Caught in the act, Unhappy wives, confused husbands,  and Terms of divorce.
He concluded the show with this quote “don’t expect success overnight, challenges will come but just persevere and most importantly you have to see things in your mind’s eye in order to achieve it.”

I Was Addicted To “Poki Film” And Weed – Yaw Siki Open Up

Former Hip life Artiste, Yaw Siki has advised young people to abstain from pornography and totally dedicate their lives to Jesus Christ.
Yaw Siki made a resolution to stop writing secular music after he was involved in a fatal accident on April 15, 2013 on the Tema-Motorway road.
Sharing his life changing story on Citi FM’s Traffic Avenue, Yaw Siki said though he use to be addicted to bad habits such as pornography and wee smoking, he had been liberated from them after developing a personal relationship with Christ.
“There were some habits and sexual immoral stuff such as pornography that I was addicted to and because I was addicted to it I was writing songs like ‘wopedudu’”
“The more I watched pornography, the more I wrote songs like that and the more it made me practice stuff like that because I had to practice what I was preaching,” he stated.
Revealing other addictions he was prone to, the former hiplife artiste said“I use to smoke marijuana. I looked quite innocent back then but I will just go to a ghetto close to me and smoke marijuana. While I was smoking I knew I had to stop but I was still doing it because it was an addiction”
Asked what motivated him to write those secular songs, he stated that his insatiable desire to be known and appreciated compelled him to do so.
“At that time I was just a young guy who loved music, who knew how to write music and had been underground for so long, waiting for people to hear what was inside me. The experience was so nice when I knew people appreciated me for what I was doing.”
He revealed that though his former career as a hip life artiste gave him so much exposure and introduced him to great people it was not a “fulfilling experience.”
According to him, most of the bad habits he developed came from the hip pop songs that he listened to.
Recalling the fatal accident he was involved in with another friend on the Tema Motoway in 2013, Yaw Siki said he was ‘ totally off, blank and not in existence” when the incident suddenly happened.
“I was just lying in my friend’s car dozing off when I heard him complaining about the reckless driving of another taxi driver. I suddenly went off, my mind was not working, my conscience was not working…,” he explained.
“The next time my eyes open slightly, I was in so much pain and my friend was beside me consoling me.The next time I woke up I was feeling a bit cool, but when I finally got my eyes opened and the pains started resurfacing I noticed I had been involved in an accident.
“The next thought that occurred to me was I could have died yesterday and if I died, was I ready to meet my maker, that was when I realized I need to change,” he added.

Breaking News: Supreme Court orders Woyome to refund Ghc51.2

The Supreme Court has unanimously ordered businessman, Alfred Agbesi Woyome to refund Ghc51.2million to the state.
Reports we gather is that, the court said Mr Woyome got the money out of an invalid and unconstitutional contract.
According to the court, the contracts upon which he made and received the claim was in contravention to Article 181 (5) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, which requires such contracts to be laid before and approved by Parliament.

Adom Praiz 2014: The second coming of Cece Winans

At her first appearance on the Adom Praiz stage in 2010, you could hear the muffled requests of the audience asking for more.
And every step she took in retreat as she walked of the stage stamped a beat of anguish in the hearts of a very needy crowd. But, she had to go. You can’t sing all-night. Can you?

But Adom Praiz team heard the need, saw the unsatisfied faces – she will be back, they may have silently promised themselves.
And on August 2,2014, the silent promise will become a public unveiling.
Cece Winans is back in Ghana,

The 'Alabaster Box' and 'Thy Kindom Come'  artiste will be joining your iconic Adom Praiz along with fellow American singer Israel Houghton to celebrate 5 years of ground-breaking gospel entertainment.
In the last article, we learnt a little more about Israel. In this piece, we talk about the American singer every gospel music lover would still love to hear again and again.
Cece Winans no longer needs awards to affirm her pedigree. We are talking about the best-selling female gospel artiste of all-time here.
And she has done everything a singing career can do. She has featured in movies - remember 'Touched by an Angel'?. She has authored three books. There is a documentary about her life and career and after 58 Grammy, Dove, and Stellar awards, Priscilla "CeCe" Marie Winans Love has certainly lived any a singer's dream.
In truth, you can’t sing 48 songs in a four-hour event so yeah Cece couldn’t perform all the hit tracks on that single night in Ghana.  So it’s a second show with a second set of gospel hit songs.
The international gospel singer is fast becoming a Ghanaian. At least you can pronounce ‘Adom’ and if you ask her to mention one radio station in Africa, Adom FM will roll off her tongue pretty easily.
This may be a small matter but it is of great relevance. That’s how big collaborations are forged – easily recognizing words, moments, friends, media platforms.
For ambitious Ghanaian gospel artistes, the second coming of Cece Winans is the greatest opportunity since radio was invented.
See, the woman is developing a great affinity to Ghana and Ghanaians. Methink its time for a great inroad for Ghana gospel in the USA. Time for some great collaboration.
In any case, Ghana is a household name in the U.S for several reasons – World Cup on my mind.
But which Ghanaian gospel artist will be a household name in America?
After 2nd August, something can change. Anything can happen.
