MANIFESTO BY RAMATU ISSAKA [ASPIRING FOR WOMEN’S COMMISSIONER]
In every society, the intelligentsias are the chief architects of change and if this change is to be realized, then this same intellectual community must spearhead it. This is to emphasize that if this increasing global phenomenon of women empowerment is anything to go by, then I stand at the frontage of harnessing and empowering competent women to meet this global challenge of a paradigm shift from the men’s world into women’s world, an equally dominated world of competent women and men from this very change that you and I seek.
Mr. Chairman, electoral commissioner, fellow student aspirant, distinguished ladies and gentlemen, Good afternoon.
The global cost of empowerment and development of women cannot be down played. It is therefore important Mr. Chairman, for women to rightly identify themselves with society, take the responsibility and accept the challenge of making greater contribution to the development of this institution which they form a greater percentage.
Permit me Mr. Chairman, to take this house through some of my vision I will adopt in my tenure of office.
1. To identify relevant cases with respect to hygiene directly to women on campus especially to support in the cleanliness of our wash room.
2. I will, with support of my executives organize a joint event with other Wocom as a way of building our relationship with other institution.
3. To improve and strengthen communication and cooperation between the sexes
4. Aid female student in realizing themselves as an important resources as to contribute to the advancement of JUC and society a s a whole.
Mr. Chairman since a promise is as good as an oath, I would not promise a 1000 policies that I cannot realize. For the adage says it is not your ability to stay on top of the tree but your ability to stay on top of the tree, and this is only possible when you and I mount the platform of action. I want to say that ability does not show in the face of any person unless they are given a chance to work.
